We have been privileged to have had this Aston Martin DB2/4 mklll drophead through our workshop a couple of times in it's life with it's current owners.
On the first visit a few years' ago, it came to us for a new hand-made bespoke hood in cream mohair. This type of hood requires an immense amount of detailed work in covering various items on the internal framework, before the outer hood gets made. The outer hood covering is tacked to the body with fine gimp pins and then finished with a covered lead-filled brass pin bead. This type of hood can easily take a full weeks' labour to do correctly and bespoke-make.
On the second visit, a couple of years later, the car arrived back after undergoing a complete 100% nut and bolt restoration by Aston Martin specialists, DAVRON. They had restored the vehicle to the high 'as new' standards that the owners expected, and they were not disappointed!
We were then instructed to carry out a full retrim to mirror the original design and detail to include replacing all the leatherwork to the original cream and green factory specification, then fully soundproof and carpet throughout to match. A matching hood envelope and under-body spare wheel cover were bespoke-made and a full boot retrim was carried out to finish off.
This car is a very desirable model that now looks just like it has "come out of it's box", it must be the best example of it's kind! This has been proven by winning many top Aston Martin Concourse events and is really enjoyed by it's owners.

Kevin's quote: “ It was a real joy to have been involved in this project and i love the colour contrast of the cream and green, just a stunning car!”
