New backing sheet, window plastic and paper protector sheet positioned under old Window.
Old window and all stitching removed, new window pined in position.
This shows using one of two specially made Long Arm machines we have
to sew in the new window and backing, all in one go as original. This is done using
the original stitch line and size stitch.
The new window is sewn in using a special thread that expands when wet. All our
machines are fitted with electronic motors which allows us to do one single stitch if
needed and can go at very low speeds for pin point accuracy following the old stitch
line in the hood so as to look factory finish
After the window is fitted we seal the back of the stitching which expands and seals
the holes
We then shape the back of the window and backing sheet to original shape before
refitting the hood back on the car.
We protect the outside of the new window with a soft cover on the outside and leave
the backing on the inside during the refit so not to mark it or put fingerprints on it
The final rear rubber goes in, we remove the centre of the backing and we are ready
to put the hood back
